In Mykolaiv unknown persons set fire to the doors of a synagogue

On the night of December 31, unknown persons threw a Molotov cocktail at the facade of a synagogue in the center of Mykolaiv. A security guard extinguished the fire, and police are investigating the case as hooliganism, which is punishable by up to 7 years in prison.
In Mykolaiv , the doors of a synagogue were set on fire, police are identifying the persons involved, the Main Department of the National Police in Mykolaiv region reported, UNN reports.

"Police received a report that unknown persons had thrown a Molotov cocktail at the facade of a prayer house in the center of Mykolaiv on the night of December 31. The fire was extinguished by the building's security guard," the police said.
At the scene, police seized the remains of combustion products and a glass container.
Currently, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident and the persons involved in the crime, studying CCTV footage and conducting a range of investigative and search activities.
The incident was preliminarily classified under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - hooliganism. The sanction of the article provides for up to seven years in prison.
