Residents of occupied Mariupol complain about rusty tap water and regular accidents. Due to the lack of water purification, the incidence of intestinal infections is increasing, but the occupiers are not solving the problem.

In the temporarily occupied Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast, water supply problems have not been resolved for two years. Residents complain about rusty tap water, regular accidents and lack of treatment, which leads to an increase in the incidence of intestinal infections. UNN reports this with reference to the Mariupol City Council.

For two years now, the city has not resolved its water problems. Residents regularly complain about poor quality tap water. Mariupol residents post videos of rusty water that cannot even be used as technical water

- Mariupol City Council writes.

But you have to pay a lot for such water. "Water is considered drinking water and its price is not small, but those who have not had their water meters installed pay for 400 liters of water per day. Who will deal with this?" people are outraged.

It is noted that under occupation, many houses have problems with water supply. There are also regular accidents in the city that no one can fix for months. The water is not filtered, as all treatment plants are still not working. The occupiers do not take care of the city's critical infrastructure and do not comply with any sanitary standards. It is not surprising that the incidence of acute intestinal infections is increasing in Mariupol, the city council added.
