Some pilots, in particular in Denmark, are already undergoing training in the air with instructors on the F-16 aircraft. Before that, they were using NATO-type light aircraft, which help to make the transition to the F-16 easier. Now it's flying with an instructor
According to him, the number of Ukrainian pilots who are trained and perform the tasks set by the instructor may increase every week.
"The next stage is independent flights. And then, accordingly, flights for combat use in order to learn to fight on this aircraft," Ihnat said.
He also said that in addition to the pilots studying in Denmark, training takes place in the United States and the United Kingdom, where, in particular, not only pilots but also other specialists, ground staff, combat management officers and aviation engineering officers are trained.
