Chernihiv police detained men who were launching fireworks during an air raid.

In Chernihiv, police detained men who launched fireworks during an air raid in the city. This was reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the National Police in Chernihiv region.

Details

The department said that in the afternoon they received a call from a woman who heard a loud explosion during an air raid alarm and saw flashes of fireworks from the balcony of a house on Ivan Mazepa Street.

Patrol police crews and the investigative team of the Chernihiv District Police Department immediately arrived at the scene. The police quickly identified the apartment from which the fireworks were launched.

Remains of fireworks were found under the windows. There were young men inside the house who refused to open the door, so it was decided to force the door open.   

With the force support of the Chernihiv Special Police Battalion, police conducted an emergency search of the premises. Police found that four drunken young men who were celebrating the New Year together were involved in the hooliganism

It is noted that during the search, the police seized the remains of the launched fireworks - the attackers hid it in the toilet when they heard the police knocking on the door

The National Police adds that information about the incident was entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations on the grounds of a criminal offense under Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism).
