The Hungarian government has ordered the construction of a stone weir on the Danube due to low water levels. They are also preparing to sink two barges to ensure cooling water for the Paks nuclear power plant.
Due to the extremely low water level in the Danube, the Hungarian government ordered the construction of a stone weir and preparations for the possible sinking of two barges to ensure the supply of cooling water for the Paks nuclear power plant, the country’s prime minister, Péter Magyar, said on Wednesday, UNN writes.

"Emergency statement from Paks." We ordered the immediate start of construction of a Danube weir using approximately 150,000 cubic meters of stone, and also took measures to prepare for the possible sinking of two 80-meter barges," Magyar wrote on social media.
According to him, "the work has already begun."
"The country’s best engineers, water resources specialists and energy experts are assisting with the construction. The Minister of National Defence has provided 100 service members to support the construction. We have ordered round-the-clock work," Magyar noted.
