President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited schoolchildren who are studying at a Kharkiv metro station due to the conflict and awarded teachers for their dedication. Zelenskyy emphasized that continuing education is a sign of life during the war.

During a working visit to Kharkiv region, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited schoolchildren who are forced to study at a Kharkiv metro station due to Russian shelling. This  was reported by the Office of the President of Ukraine, UNN reports

Details

The head of state visited the classrooms where math, English and music lessons were held. Volodymyr Zelenskyy talked to the children and inquired about the details of the training at the Universytet metro station.

In addition, the President awarded awards and honorary titles to teachers in Kharkiv region. The Head of State awarded teachers with the Order of Princess Olha, III degree, and conferred the honorary titles of "Honored Education Worker of Ukraine" and "Honored Teacher of Ukraine".

There are 831 children from 40 classes at the University station, which are assigned to 11 educational institutions.

Classrooms for children are located at five stations of the Kharkiv Metro. There are 105 classes with 2,094 pupils in grades 1-11 in two shifts. 

It is noted that schoolchildren from all over the city are transported free of charge by buses on 12 routes, accompanied by patrol police.
