Today, 73 combat clashes took place at the front, more than half of which occurred in the Pokrovsky and Novopavlivsky directions. The Armed Forces of Ukraine repel enemy attacks and restrain the offensive.
More than half of the 73 battles on the front took place today in the Pokrovsky and Novopavlivsky directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in the summary for 16:00 on May 15, writes UNN.
The Defense Forces of Ukraine are deterring the offensive of the Russian occupiers and are taking measures to prevent the enemy from advancing deep into Ukrainian territory. At this time, 73 combat clashes have taken place
Today, the communities of Baranivka, Chuykivka, Porozok, Prokhody, Dmytrivka, Novodmytrivka, Ponomarenky of Sumy region were affected by enemy artillery and mortar fire, as noted.
Situation by directions
Ukrainian units repelled five enemy attacks in the Kharkiv direction, in the areas of Vovchansk, Hlyboke and towards Vysokaya Yaruga and Kudiivka.
In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainians are repelling two assaults towards Pishchane and in the Kruhlyakivka area.
In the Lyman direction, the occupying army carried out eight attacks on the positions of our troops near Ridkodub, Kolodyaziv and in the directions of Novoplatonivka, Novyi Myr, Zelena Dolyna during the day. Two of them are still ongoing.
The occupying forces are looking for weak spots in our defense near Bilohorivka, Hryhorivka and Verkhnyokamyanske in the Siversky direction. Our units successfully repelled two of the three enemy attacks, one battle is ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers tried four times to advance to the positions of Ukrainians in the areas of Chasovoy Yar and Kurdyumivka. Two combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, our defenders repelled one assault by the aggressor. The enemy tried to advance in the Toretsk area.
In the Pokrovsky direction, Russian invaders made 27 attempts to dislodge our defenders from their positions in the areas of Malinivka, Myrolyubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Novosergiyivka, Udachne, Novoleksandrivka, Andriivka and in the directions of Zorya, Stara Mykolaivka.
The Defense Forces are holding back the pressure and repelled 19 enemy attacks, and eight more combat engagements are ongoing.
In the Novopavlivsky direction, the enemy tried 11 times to break through the defense of our defenders in the areas of Bahatyr, Kostyantynopol, Pryvilne and Vilne Pole. Seven combat engagements are still ongoing. Novopil, Novodarivka and Temirivka were subjected to air strikes.
In the Hulyaypil direction, the enemy launched air strikes with unguided air missiles on Vysoke, no offensive actions of the enemy were recorded in the direction.
In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders repelled two enemy assaults in the areas of Mali Shcherbaky and Stepove. Novoyakovlivka and Mali Shcherbaky were subjected to air strikes.
In the Pridneprovsky direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions, but launched an air strike on Kozatsky.
"Eight combat clashes have taken place in the Kursk direction since the beginning of the day, four of which are ongoing. In addition, the enemy launched four air strikes, dropping seven guided bombs, and carried out 123 artillery shellings," the statement said.
