At least 21 people have been killed and 61 injured following an explosion at a pyrotechnics factory in central China. This was reported by the BBC with reference to local media, according to UNN.

The incident occurred on Monday at the Liuyang Huasheng facility in the city of Liuyang, Hunan Province. According to Chinese broadcaster CCTV, the explosion went off at a production site specializing in the manufacture of fireworks.
The city of Liuyang is known as one of the centers of China's pyrotechnics industry and regularly attracts tourists with its shows. The circumstances of the explosion and the causes of the tragedy are currently being investigated.
