Kyiv • UNN
State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andriy Demchenko said that there was no military activity on the border with Belarus. Ukraine continues to strengthen this area, although it remains potentially threatening.
The situation on the border with Belarus is under control. There is no activity on the movement of equipment, units or personnel of the Belarusian army near the Ukrainian border. This was stated by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service Andriy Demchenko during a telethon, according to a correspondent of UNN.
In the direction of the border with Belarus, the situation is different from the border with Russia. The situation there is fully controlled and we do not see any activity of movement of equipment, units or personnel of the Belarusian army near our border. Of course, a certain number of forces and units are used by Belarus to strengthen the border with our country, but they are located at a certain distance from the border with our country
He reiterated that Russia, for example, does not have the necessary grouping, the necessary forces and means on the territory of Belarus to take any action against Ukraine from the territory of Belarus.
“But this direction remains a threat to us, because we understand that Belarus remains under the influence of Russia. Therefore, we continue to fortify ourselves, and intelligence units are closely monitoring what is happening on the other side of the border to analyze all available information, to understand whether the situation is changing, how threatening it is in order to strengthen this or that direction if the situation changes,” Demchenko said.
