British intelligence reveals daily losses of the Russian army in November
Kyiv • UNN
Russia has passed a law to write off debts of up to 10 million rubles for new military personnel starting in December 2024. British intelligence attributes this to Russian losses, which reached 1,523 people a day in November.
In November alone, the Russian army lost more than 1,500 people a day in killed and wounded. This is stated in the report of the British Ministry of Defense based on intelligence on Monday, which also indicates that Russia is trying to recruit new recruits by writing off debts to those who have been enrolled since December this year, UNN writes.

"At the end of November 2024, a law was passed in Russia that will allow military personnel who enlisted after December 1, 2024, to write off their loan debt. The write-off will apply to loans of up to 10 million rubles (approximately USD 94,400) and will also apply to spouses. This is in addition to the loan repayment holidays program for Russian military personnel. The independent Russian media organization Mediazona reports that since October 2022, 411 ,000 loan repayment holidays have been taken on mortgages and personal loans," the British intelligence report said.
Russia's financial incentives for conscripts are almost certainly aimed at ensuring that their ever-increasing losses, which currently total over 760,000 killed and wounded, and an average of 1,523 per day in November 2024, are sufficiently replenished. The incentives are also almost certainly aimed at reducing the likelihood that Russia will have to conduct further mobilizations, which the Russian leadership believes are damaging public support for the war and increasing the risk of further disastrous large-scale emigration
The report notes that the loan write-offs are likely to increase financial pressure on Russian banks in 2025, in addition to the pressure from high interest rates and sanctions. "This is almost certain to reduce the banking sector's resilience to respond to a potential economic shock," the British Ministry of Defense said.
