A Kentucky Republican is demanding that Biden's physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, provide detailed information about the U.S. president's medical examination. The Republican doubts O'Connor's independence and ability to make accurate assessments of the White House chief executive's cognitive abilities.

The Republican camp is requesting a report on the U.S. president's health. The Chairman of the House Oversight Committee demands that the data on the medical examination of Biden was deciphered. Writes UNN with reference to NBC News.

The independent position of Biden's personal physician has been questioned in the US. The committee's chairman, Republican James Comer, expressed doubts about the ability of Kevin O'Connor, Joe Biden's doctor, to make "accurate and independent" assessments. Comer demanded that O'Connor appear for a transcript of an interview about Biden's medical examination.

Dr. O'Connor was appointed as Biden's physician just days into his presidential term. He first began working as Biden's physician in 2009.

After Biden's routine physical in February, O'Connor said in his evaluation that he was "fully performing all of his duties with no exceptions or accommodations.

Critic of Biden

James Comer, head of the House Oversight Committee and a Kentucky Republican, is a well-known Biden whistleblower. He helped lead a Republican-led investigation into Biden's impeachment for months, but it went nowhere.

Republicans have provided no evidence that Biden was involved in any criminal acts, despite repeated claims to the contrary.

James Comer said in a letter to Dr Kevin O'Connor that he also sought to link O'Connor to a series of previous investigations.

In his letter, Comer pointed to Biden's response to a question from ABC News host George Stephanopoulos on Friday about whether Biden was willing to take a cognitive test.

"Every day I take a cognitive test. Every day I take that test. Everything I do," Biden responded.

In a letter to O'Connor, Comer observed the following:

You have repeatedly turned down most media requests for interviews, and now the Committee is asking you to answer questions about your independence in the wake of mixed and confusing information coming out of the White House about the President's ability to do his job

- He stated.

The letter also pointed to initial conflicting reports about whether Biden had undergone a medical examination after his routine February physical.

White House Response

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters in the middle of last week that Joe Biden hasn't actually had any medical exams since February.

Then, hours later, Biden told a group of governors during a meeting that he had been seen by a doctor after the debate, adding that sources said he was fine.

As such, suspicions have crept in among Republicans, Comer indicated that "statements from the White House press secretary and President Biden seem contradictory.

Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, believes there is a need to understand Dr. Kevin O'Connor's actual role in the White House at this time.

"Given your ties to the Biden family, the committee is also trying to understand whether you are in a position to provide accurate and independent assessments of the President's fitness to serve," James Comer remarked  in his message.
