The media, citing their sources, wrote that the Russian army is preparing an offensive on Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. It was noted that Russia has not abandoned plans for an offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region and on the right bank of the Kherson region. At the same time, the readiness for activation in the Kherson direction is assessed as higher.

It was reported that the operation may involve units of the Russian Marine Corps and Airborne Forces under the command of the Airborne Forces commander Mikhail Teplinsky.

In early December, the head of the Kherson RMA, Oleksandr Prokudin, stated that the Russian occupiers want to start an offensive on Kherson. They have gathered 300 boats to cross the Dnieper River.

During the artillery shelling of Kherson and the suburbs on December 20, a small group of Russians tried to cross over to the right bank in the area of the Antonivsky Bridge. However, the occupiers did not reach the middle of the Dnieper.
