Criminalists of the Chief Police Commissariat of Vilnius County are investigating the fact of damaging property in a manner dangerous to society.
According to police, on April 7, at 2.15 a.m., an unidentified person threw a Molotov cocktail at the embassy building on Heroes of Ukraine Street in Vilnius and damaged the wall. On April 8, at 2.46 a.m., an unidentified person again threw a Molotov cocktail at the embassy building and damaged the wall.
In connection with the attack, an investigation was launched. Since the actions were directed against the target itself, the rf embassy building, the two investigations were combined.
On April 8, police analyzed the available data, identified and detained the suspect (born 1974). This person had already come to the attention of the police.
The detainee is under arrest. The issue of assigning a measure of restraint is being decided. The suspect faces a fine, restriction of freedom, arrest or imprisonment for up to 5 years.
