Kirill Budanov, the head of the GRU, said that the russian authorities are systematically adapting society to the problems. According to him, a rebellion in a terrorist country is unlikely due to the lack of a strong leader capable of leading it.

The russian authorities are systematically adapting their society to the problems in the country. A revolt in russia will not happen by itself, because there is currently no strong leader there. This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov during a telethon, UNN reports.

Unfortunately, we have to admit that they (the russian authorities - ed.) are adapting their society to these problems in a rather systematic way. And in principle, the level of demand in their society (for protests - ed.) is much lower than in ours. A rebellion cannot happen by itself. Only a strong leader can do what Prigozhin did. And we don't see one yet

- said Budanov, how Russians are reacting to the flooding of the region, living in darkness, and suspension of currency trading.

Recall

On June 24, 2023, Yevgeny Prygozhin led a rebellion when more than 8,000 mercenaries marched toward the russian capital against russia's top military command, accusing them of corruption and dereliction of duty. On August 23, his plane crashed in the Tver region of Russia.
