According to the minister, the system contained confidential medical data, including information about prescriptions, scheduled appointments, prescribed medications, and documents that patients presented to doctors.

He clarified that the company had confirmed the theft of 19 million records containing various fragments of information that may be linked to one another.

More than 2 terabytes of data stolen

According to Gawkowski, the volume of the stolen database exceeds 2 terabytes. At the same time, Polish authorities currently have no indications that the incident resulted from an external attack.

He added that the cause could have been human error, a system failure, sabotage, or the company’s negligence.

Following the leak, doctors who used MyDr began being notified. About 12,000 medical facilities are involved. At the same time, they continue to operate as usual.

The investigation is being conducted by the Central Cybercrime Bureau. The Ministry of Digital Affairs also recommends that citizens check whether their data was included in the stolen database and, if necessary, block their PESEL number.
