In Kyiv, the car of a civic activist was burned down on Vidradny Avenue. Police promptly detained two suspects who face up to 10 years in prison for intentional destruction of property by arson.

On the night of  August 8, the car of a civic activist was burned in Kyiv's Vidradnyi Avenue. Law enforcement officers quickly tracked down the suspects - they were detained and face up to ten years in prison for their actions. This was stated by the National Police of Kyiv, reports UNN.

It is noted that around midnight, the police received information that a car was burning on Vidradnyi Avenue. After extinguishing the fire and inspecting the scene, it was found that the fire was caused by arson.

As a result of the measures taken, the police established that two men were involved in the commission of the criminal offense - a 42-year-old resident of Kyiv and a 39-year-old resident of Kyiv region.

As law enforcement officers found out, one of the arsonists followed the woman and established the address where she left her car. Having received the necessary information, the other suspect poured flammable substance on the victim's car at night and set it on fire. The police detained both suspects in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. During the investigative actions, material evidence confirming their involvement in the commission of a criminal offense was seized from them

The investigator of the Solomyansky Police Department served the detainees with a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional destruction or damage to property committed by arson.

For this crime, the men face up to 10 years in prison.
