Zinchenko left Ajax as a free agent

Ukrainian national team midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko, as a free agent, has left Amsterdam's Ajax, for whom he played 25 minutes before getting injured and being sidelined for the rest of the season. This is stated in a club statement, reports UNN.

Details

"Ajax confirms that Vítězslav Jaroš, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko will leave the club after the expiration of their contracts on June 30, following the end of the 2025/26 season. We would like to thank Vítězslav, Takehiro and Oleksandr for their dedication and contribution to the club's development and wish them every success in the next stage of their careers

" the club stated on social media X.

Zinchenko on Instagram expressed gratitude to the club and players "for the warm welcome and support I received during my time at the club.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish all the best to everyone at and around the club - Zinchenko added.

Addendum

Zinchenko moved in the winter transfer window from London's Arsenal to Amsterdam's Ajax for $1.5 million. In February, the Ukrainian national team player made his debut for Ajax, coming on as a substitute for Owen Wijndal in the final 15 minutes against AZ.

On February 14, Zinchenko started Ajax's home game against Sittard, but in the 3rd minute of the match he suffered a knee injury inflicted by the visiting team's forward Dimitrios Limnios. Zinchenko was substituted in the 6th minute, and his team won 4-1.

Later it became known that the player was sidelined for the rest of the season due to a knee injury.

It is currently unknown where the player will continue his career, but Zhytomyr's Polissya reacted humorously to Zinchenko's departure from the Amsterdam club, writing, "Well, son, time to come home?" (a reference to a conversation between Dynamo president Ihor Surkis and Andriy Yarmolenko when the winger returned to the Kyiv club - ed.).

Also, the Polissya account "jabbed" the player's wife Vlada Sedan, writing: "Zhytomyr is not London, of course, but we have the 'Global' shopping center. And it will be closer to Koziatyn."

In one interview, Zinchenko forgot where his wife is from and said she is from Koziatyn.

Sedan herself stated that she is from Vinnytsia: "I have never been to Koziatyn in my life. That's not true. The train 'Vinnytsia - Kyiv,' which I took during my student years, always stopped in Koziatyn. Apart from the station, I have never seen anything else in Koziatyn."
