President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on improving the regulation of the production and circulation of food supplements (№4122-IX). This document aims to ensure clearer and safer conditions for the circulation of dietary supplements on the Ukrainian market. This is reported by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, writes UNN.

Details

According to the new law, the term "dietary supplement" is introduced, as well as mechanisms for registration and introduction of dietary supplements into circulation. Particular attention is paid to strengthening responsibility for the production and sale of food supplements.

The law also provides for the approval of a list of vitamins, minerals and their maximum permissible doses that are allowed for use in dietary supplements. This will reduce the risks to consumer health.

According to the explanatory note to the draft law, its purpose is to improve the regulation of the production and circulation of food supplements on the Ukrainian market, taking into account the requirements of the legislation of the European Union, as well as the experience of individual countries of the European Union, and state control over their circulation by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
