The US military's elusive X-37B spaceplane has postponed its next launch by three days. Judging by the rocket it rides on, the secretive spacecraft is likely to launch farther than ever before.

The US Space Force has announced the postponement of the upcoming launch of its elusive X-37B spaceplane. The mission, called USSF-52 was scheduled for December 7, but has now been postponed to December 10. This is reported by Space.com, reports UNN.

Details

The X-37B will be launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. According to a statement from Space Force, the reason for the date change was a change in launch schedules and the availability of the 39A launch complex.

We are working closely with our launch service providers launch service providers, and the entire team is focused on delivering a successful mission,

said Brigadier General Christine Panzenhagen.

This will be the first launch of a reusable spaceplane on a Falcon Heavy rocket, which is important for its secret mission. Five of the six previous X-37B launches were carried out using Atlas V rockets from United Launch Alliance (ULA) rockets; one was a Falcon 9 launch.

During its last mission, the X-37B spent 908 days in orbit, returning to orbit, returning to Earth on November 12, 2022.
