Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that an agreement between Tehran and Washington "has never been so close." According to the channel's sources, the parties have already agreed on the text of the memorandum of understanding, but the document still requires final approval.
According to a diplomatic source, the agreements provide for the extension of the ceasefire, the restoration of safe shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, and the creation of conditions for new negotiations on Iran's nuclear program.
At the same time, the American side describes the future agreement differently. A senior official from the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the document contains provisions for the curtailment of the Iranian nuclear program and the cessation of Tehran's support for armed groups in the region.
"The details of the future agreement remain a subject of dispute, as U.S. officials and Iranian media interpret its key provisions differently," the report says.
According to CNN, the signing ceremony could take place in Geneva as early as Sunday. Additionally, American representatives are preparing for a new round of peace talks, which could take place this weekend.
