“We can confirm that the strike was on an area outside the base, with no damage or casualties. At this stage, we do not have information on how many missiles were fired,” the Pentagon spokesman said.

Iranian-backed groups have been attacking U.S. bases in Syria and Iraq for several months since late 2023, but the attacks stopped in February 2024. In April, the Syrian base again fired at least five missiles. The United States responded with an airstrike on the missile launcher used in the attack.
