UNESCO has added five Ukrainian cultural heritage sites from Odesa, Chernihiv, Lviv, and Zakarpattia regions to its list of
protected sites due to damage caused by Russian aggression. The sites include wooden churches, a national opera house, and a
cathedral.

The UNESCO Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in the Event of Armed Conflict
approved the decision to inscribe five more cultural heritage sites of Ukraine on the

According to the

located in Odesa, Chernihiv, Lviv and Zakarpattia regions, namely:

among cultural heritage sites and cultural infrastructure as a result of
of Russian aggression. According to Bondar, the expansion of the list of objects under
enhanced protection is precisely because of Russian aggression.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has launched more than 10,000 missiles and drones into Ukraine. As a result, more than 1,700 cultural infrastructure facilities and more than 870 cultural heritage sites have been damaged or destroyed in the country. I believe that together with the UNESCO community, we will create a strong circle of support, where cultural heritage unites us more strongly than any force trying to divide us
