Turkey has no 'peace plan', only idea to establish communication through Ankara's mediation - ambassador
Kyiv • UNN
Turkey does not have a "peace plan" but only an idea to establish communication through Ankara's mediation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, according to Ukraine's ambassador to Turkey, who explained that Turkey's role remains that of a mediator, not an individual initiative or "peace plan" as portrayed by the Russian media.
Turkey's traditional role as a mediator remains stable, but in this context, we are not talking about individual initiatives or "peace plans" that Russian media are trying to promote.
This was announced by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar during a briefing, UNN reports .
And we are getting very divergent signals from the aggressor country. Immediately after the meeting, there was a signal from Peskov that Turkey could not be a mediator, and this week there have been proposals that they are accepting the "peace plan" proposed by Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan. However, in reality, there are no "peace plans". There are just ideas to establish communication through Ankara's mediation
He emphasized that the issue of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict is always a key topic of discussion in the dialogue between Erdogan and Putin. Turkey is actively offering its services as a mediator in this situation.
