Subsequently, the Pentagon confirmed that it had dismissed the US Army Chief of Staff.
"General Randy A. George will immediately retire as the 41st Chief of Staff of the Army. The War Department is grateful to General George for decades of service to our country. We wish him all the best in retirement," wrote US Assistant Secretary of War Sean Parnell on X.
Several people familiar with the White House's plans said that active discussions are underway regarding the departure of other administration officials, including FBI Director Kash Patel, Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer.
These individuals, it was stated, said that no timelines have yet been set and President Trump has not yet made a decision.
