As a reminder, on April 2, 2025, US President announced the introduction of new duties for certain countries. In particular, China - 34%, the European Union and Great Britain - 20%.
On Monday, April 7, US President Donald Trump stated that if China does not abolish the 34% duty by April 8, the US will introduce an additional 50% duty from April 9, and further negotiations with China will be terminated.
On Tuesday, April 8, the White House stated that additional duties of 104% against China came into force. This happened because Beijing did not cancel its retaliatory measures, as demanded by the United States.
On Wednesday, April 9, US President Donald Trump announced that he had authorized a 90-day pause on the introduction of new US duties and increased them for China to 125% due to "lack of respect."
