Troops will not go to Beirut: Trump spoke with the Prime Minister of Israel
Kyiv • UNN
Trump announced a "withdrawal of troops" from Beirut following a conversation with Netanyahu. Hezbollah has agreed to a mutual ceasefire through mediators.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that he had concluded a "very productive conversation" with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose expansion of operations in Lebanon threatens to derail ongoing peace talks with Iran, UNN reports.
"No troops will be going into Beirut, and any troops already on their way have been turned back," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump also reported that he held — "through high-level representatives" — a conversation with the leadership of Hezbollah, "and they have agreed that all firing will stop — that Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel."
Prior to the call with Trump, Netanyahu on Monday ordered the Israeli military to strike the Dahiyeh district of Beirut, a Hezbollah stronghold.
The order came amid a growing wave of Israeli attacks across southern Lebanon after Netanyahu stated that Israel would intensify its offensive against Hezbollah. Iranian media reported on Monday that the country's officials are suspending peace talks with the U.S. due to Netanyahu's actions in Lebanon.
