Russian troops aim to capture Chasiv Yar by May 9, while Ukraine is reinforcing its brigades in the area with ammunition, drones, and electronic warfare to disrupt the enemy's plans.
The Russian military leadership has set a task for its troops to capture Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region by May 9. The Ukrainian military command has taken measures to significantly reinforce the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades in this area with ammunition, drones, and electronic warfare equipment, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky said on Sunday, UNN reports.
I worked in another, very important and dangerous direction. The enemy is also concentrating its efforts to break through our defenses west of Bakhmut, gain access to the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal, seize the settlement of Chasiv Yar, and create conditions for further advancement to the Kramatorsk agglomeration
According to him, the enemy's plans are hampered by the heroic defense of our brigades, who "literally dug into the ground, holding back the enemy's daily attacks." Using their numerical superiority and various motivational factors, including executions, separate groups of enemy infantry reached the Novyi neighborhood, but were destroyed by FPV kamikaze strikes and artillery fire.
At the same time, the threat remains relevant, given that the Russian military leadership has set a task for its troops to capture Chasiv Yar by May 9.
In order to adequately respond to the enemy's actions and strengthen the defense of our troops in this area, measures were taken to significantly strengthen the brigades with ammunition, drones, electronic warfare equipment
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also called the main conclusion from the two-day work at the front the need to improve the quality of training, including the moral and psychological component, increase the number of high-tech unmanned systems for various purposes with trained operators, and improve the quality of asymmetric actions to reduce the enemy's combat potential.
"We continue to carry out organizational measures with a focus on improving management efficiency, eliminating duplication, and directing the released resources to support combat units. The main task of these measures is to increase the combat capability of our troops, save the lives of our soldiers, disrupt the enemy's plans, and ensure the training of reserves," Syrsky summarized.
