Sumy region: Russians shell Shalyhynska community, two women injured

Russian occupants shelled border settlements in Sumy region, wounding two women and damaging civilian infrastructure.
Russian invaders shelled border communities in Sumy region. Two women were injured as a result of the enemy attacks on the Shalyhyn community. Civilian infrastructure has been destroyed. The consequences of the shelling were reported by the Sumy Prosecutor's Office , UNN reports.
According to the investigation, on April 23, 2024, at about 13:00, the occupiers, using methods of warfare prohibited by international law, fired artillery from the territory of the Russian Federation at the civilian infrastructure of the Shalyhyn community of Shostka district.
Details
It is noted that two private households in the community were damaged as a result of the enemy's attack. As clarified by the prosecutor's office, two women were injured: 72 and 45 years old. Both were hospitalized with injuries.
A criminal proceeding on violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was opened over the shelling.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are recording the crimes of Russians.
