Canadian actor Angus MacInnes died at the age of 77 on December 23. He played key roles in Star Wars and other well-known films, including Captain Phillips and Hellboy.
Angus MacInnes, a Canadian actor who starred in the films Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope” in 1977 and ‘Rogue One’ in 2016, died on December 23. He was 77 years old. Deadline writes about it with reference to the statement of the actor's family, UNN reports.
“To all of Angus' fans around the world, it is with a broken heart that we write this: On December 23, 2024, Angus MacInnes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and actor, passed away. He left us peacefully, surrounded by his family and love,” the family said in a statement.
McInnes's career spanned several decades, with his most notable roles being that of the Golden Leader and John “Dutch” Wander. According to his obituary, the actor especially cherished his participation in the Star Wars films.
In addition to the George Lucas franchise, McInnes' other works include Witness (with Harrison Ford), Tom Hanks' historical thriller Captain Phillips, the dystopian science fiction film Judge Dredd, Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy, and a small role in Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.
