The SBU has opened a criminal case due to the largest-scale cyber attack on state registers. This was stated by the acting head of the SBU Cyber Security Department, Volodymyr Karastelev, during a briefing, reports the correspondent of UNN.

Details

"In general, we are working in three areas. Firstly, it is the repulsion of the cyber attack. Secondly, it is the restoration of the operability of the infrastructure and overcoming the consequences. And thirdly, the documentation of this cyber attack as a crime. The Security Service of Ukraine has opened a criminal case under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including Article 438 of the Criminal Code - violation of the laws and customs of war," said Volodymyr Karastelev.

Currently, the SBU is considering the version that Russian special services, in particular hacker groups associated with the General Staff of Russia, are behind this cyber attack.

"We are working comprehensively, but given the specifics of our work, we cannot now disclose all the data. The work is underway and all the consequences will be timely overcome and documented in the relevant criminal proceedings," said the acting head of the SBU Cyber Security Department.

Reminder

Enemy hackers carried out one of the largest cyber attacks on the state registers of Ukraine. The Ministry of Justice is working to restore access to critical systems, which may take up to two weeks.

Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna reported that the leakage of data from state registers after the cyber attack by the Russian Federation has not been confirmed yet.
