The following communities of Sumy region were under Russian fire on December 9:
- Khotyn community: Russian military fired mortars (7 explosions).
- Bilopil community: mortar shelling (23 explosions), FPV drone shelling (1 explosion), AGS shelling (60 explosions) and artillery shelling (6 explosions).
- Esman community: 11 mortar shelling was recorded.
- Shalygino community: mortar shelling (4 explosions).
- Druzhbivka community: 3 mines were dropped by the Russian army on the territory of the community.
- Seredina-Buda community: mortar shelling (19 explosions).
- Krasnopilska community: a UAV dropped an explosive device (1 explosion).
