Russia reports drone attack on important defense industry facility: what is known

The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia, Gleb Nikitin, reported on an alleged attack by unmanned aerial vehicles on the Y. M. Sverdlov plant, which is an important object of the military-industrial complex of the aggressor state. This is reported by Russian media, writes UNN.

The explosives factory was damaged as a result of yesterday's UAV attack on Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod region 

Nikitin reported on the alleged repulsion of a UAV attack "over the industrial territory of one of the districts". According to him, there were no casualties or destruction.

In turn, Russian media write that at least three drones hit the Y. M. Sverdlov plant, which is a city-forming enterprise of Dzerzhinsk. It is part of the military-industrial complex of Russia. As a result of the attack, the plant's pipeline overpass and two workshops were damaged.

Earlier, an attack by 16 UAVs on this facility was reported on October 20, 2024. At that time, one of the workshops of the enterprise producing octogen and hexogen was damaged. The building had its windows and doors broken, and the roof was also damaged.

Sanctions against the Sverdlov Plant

Ukraine has included the plant in its sanctions list "for supporting actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine".

Also, on June 23, 2023, the plant was included in the sanctions list of the countries of the European Union. In addition, the plant is under sanctions pressure from the United States, Great Britain, Japan and Switzerland.

In the Orenburg region of Russia, unknown drones allegedly attacked a military airfield.

In North Ossetia, a military airfield was attacked by UAVs. The head of the region reported that 15 drones were shot down.
