Russia has excluded the MAKS air show from the 2026 exhibition plan

The Russian government has excluded the MAKS air show from the list of exhibitions for 2026, rescheduling it for 2027. The last full-scale event was held back in 2021.

The International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS), which has been held regularly in Russia every two years since 1993, has been excluded from the list of exhibitions for 2026. The corresponding order of the Russian government was published on the official portal of legal information, UNN reports.

In particular, the document indicates that the event, which took place in Zhukovsky near Moscow, has been postponed to 2027. The reasons for the decision were not specified.
The order also notes that the scientific conference on hydroaviation "Hydroaviasalon" will take place in September 2027 in Gelendzhik, and the "International Exhibition of Helicopter Industry and Aviation Systems" will be held in May-June of the same year in Kazan.

MAKS is the largest air show held in Russia. Before Russia's war against Ukraine, it took place in Zhukovsky near Moscow every two years. The event was last held in 2021.
In 2023, the authorities announced the postponement of the air show to 2024; a year later, it was delayed for another year. In 2025, the forum was postponed once again.
In 2024 and 2025, this event was held in an online format: exhibitions and demonstration programs were presented in videos on the official website.
In July 2025, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order to hold MAKS in 2026-2027. Previously, the air show featured exhibitions of both Russian and foreign aircraft.
