russia is unable to patrol the entire area around the Kerch Bridge with naval forces. The occupiers are forced to narrow the passage and rely on aviation for patrolling and anti-drone warfare.
The russian occupiers cannot patrol the entire area around the Kerch Bridge with naval forces. Therefore, they are forced to narrow this passage as much as possible to facilitate the work of aviation, which performs patrols and anti-missile defense virtually only from the air. This was stated by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy Dmytro Pletenchuk during a telethon, according to a correspondent of UNN.
When asked about the situation near the Kerch Bridge, Pletenchuk replied: "The situation stems from the fact that they cannot patrol the entire area around this bridge with naval forces. That is, directly from ships and boats, and they are forced to narrow this passage as much as possible to facilitate the work of aviation, which has actually replaced the Black Sea Fleet's ship and boat fleet in this matter and is actually patrolling and anti-drone warfare only from the air".
According to him, the russians have one goal: to narrow and reduce the area where infiltration can occur
AddendumAddendum
The publication "Crimea. Realii", citing Brady Afrik, an analyst at the American Enterprise Institute's Foreign and Defense Policy Research Department, reportedthat the russian authorities continue to increase the number of barges near the Kerch Bridge to protect it, now more than 30.
At the end of June, it was reported that russian forces had installed a second line of 21 barges of booms near the Kerch Bridge and had been installing piers near the Kerch Bridge piers for several months.
According to the Center for Investigative Journalism, russia began building the surface defense of the Kerch Bridge on May 7 and continues to do so today. It is installing a layered system of boom barriers to protect against attacks.
