A plane with released prisoners handed over by Russia and Belarus to the West has landed at Cologne airport in Germany. This was reported on Thursday, August 1, by Reuters, according to UNN.

It is indicated that political prisoners have been released: Ilya Yashin, Vladimir Kara-Murza, Alsu Kurmashova, Andrey Pivovarov, Oleg Orlov, Alexandra Skochilenko, Lilia Chanysheva, Ksenia Fadeeva, Evan Gershkovich, Kevin Leake, Demuri Voronin, Vadim Ostanin, Paul Whelan and German Mojzes. Also on the list of those released is German citizen Rico Krieger, who was sentenced to death in the case of the explosion at the Ozerishche railway station near Minsk in October 2023.

In exchange, Russia received FSB hitman Vadim Krasikov, spies and fraudsters.
