Online meetings with the State Tax Service and the abolition of the penalty for erroneous tax payments: Zelenskyy signs law on amendments to the Tax Code

President Zelenskyy signs a law amending the Tax Code to digitalize certain tax services, allowing taxpayers to interact with the State Tax Service via video conference and improving online communications.
The President of Ukraine has signed the draft law No. 9662 on amendments to the Tax Code on the digitalization of certain tax services. This was reported by UNN with reference to the bill card on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
Details
The document reportedly envisages, among other things, the improvement of online communications with taxpayers.
Thus, due to the changes in the Tax Code, taxpayers will be able to interact with the State Tax Service via video conference.
In particular, taxpayers will be able to join via videoconference the consideration of their complaints against decisions to refuse to register tax invoices (TI)/adjustment calculations (AC), or to join online the consideration of taxpayer objections to the audit report.
In addition, the law provides:
- abolition of liability for erroneous indication by the payer of the wrong budget account of the recipient of funds in payment documents (subject to timely payment);
- shortening the timeframe for budget reimbursement, namely up to 20 days for desk audits and up to 40 days for documentary audits, etc.

Also, the law abolished restrictions for payers of the minimum tax liability on the time limit for applying for data reconciliation, which is currently only thirty days from the date of delivery of the tax notice, etc.
The document also addresses the issue of establishing information exchange between tax authorities and the Central Securities Depository and depository institutions authorized to service accounts of company shareholders in the company share accounting system.
