An official of a penal colony in Cherkasy region has been served a notice of suspicion for shooting at a service station while drunk. The incident occurred in early July 2024 near the city of Uman.
In Cherkasy region, an official of a penal colony has been notified of suspicion for shooting at a service station while drunk, the Cherkasy regional prosecutor's office said on Monday, UNN reports.

"An official of the Starobabanivska Correctional Colony No. 92 was served a notice of suspicion on the fact of hooliganism with the use of firearms (Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the prosecutor's office said.
According to the investigation, in early July 2024, in the afternoon, the suspect, while intoxicated, committed hooliganism at a car service station near the city of Uman.
"During a conversation with the service station employee, being dissatisfied with the answer to his question, he took a gun from his personal belongings and, without reason, grossly violating public order, fired a shot at the wall of the station. After that, he left the scene of the unlawful actions," the prosecutor's office said.
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint in the form of detention is currently being decided.
