Since the beginning of this year, the occupiers have exported 60,000 tons of wheat from Mariupol on eight vessels. The port has been transformed into a hub for metal exports and logistics.

Since the beginning of 2024, Russian occupation forces have exported about 60,000 tons of wheat from the seaport of temporarily occupied Mariupol. This was reported by the Mariupol City Council, according to UNN.

According to available information, at least eight vessels carrying grain have been dispatched from the port since January. This is reported by the occupation-controlled "Rosselkhoznadzor administration of the 'DPR'".
The City Council emphasizes that the port of Mariupol has been transformed into an element of military logistics and a tool for the systematic looting of the occupied territories.

In addition to grain, the invaders are exporting metal and other cargo, while also attempting to turn the port into a key logistical hub in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
Earlier, the occupation administration announced the development of a so-called "development strategy" for the port until 2040. According to these plans, the cargo capacity of vessels is to be increased to 25,000 tons, whereas it currently ranges from 3,000 to 10,000 tons.
