Ministry of Reintegration: the idea of launching mobile pharmacies on the basis of Ukrposhta is being considered
Kyiv • UNN
Ukraine plans to introduce mobile pharmacies in villages and frontline regions through Ukrposhta to improve access to medicines in areas where infrastructure is damaged.
Mobile pharmacies may appear in villages and frontline areas, and the idea of their operation on the basis of Ukrposhta is being considered, the Ministry of Reintegration reported on Tuesday, UNN reports.
Details
If mobile pharmacies are introduced, they will reportedly be able to operate in rural areas where there are no stationary pharmacies. Such pharmacies will also operate, in particular, in the frontline areas, where the medical and pharmacy infrastructure has been significantly destroyed.
As indicated, the main focus was on the issue of obtaining a license for the sale of medicines by Ukrposhta JSC. After all, only licensed companies have the right to establish such mobile pharmacies.
"Granting the postal operator such a right will be able to solve the problem of affordable medicines on 100% of the territory of Ukraine in the first half of 2024," the Ministry of Reintegration noted.
As noted, if this initiative is implemented, it is planned:
1. Opening of licensed warehouses at key sorting facilities of Ukrposhta, which will allow to deliver medicines to any locality in the country the next day.
2. Ensuring a stock of 10 thousand medicines.
3. Integration with the "Affordable Medicines" program.
Mobile pharmacies will have the same rules for dispensing medicines as stationary pharmacies. All prescription drugs will be dispensed exclusively by prescription, the Ministry of Integration said.
