According to the research institute, recently pledged Western military aid to Ukraine decreased by almost 90 percent between August and October 2023 compared to the same period last year. The total value of the new packages amounted to only €2.11 billion.
"Ukraine is increasingly dependent on a few major donors, including Germany, the United States, and the Nordic countries. Given the uncertainty about further US assistance, Ukraine can only hope that the EU will accept its long-announced €50 billion aid package," the research institute notes.
According to the institute's report, in August-October, EU countries pledged 780 million euros for heavy weapons, compared to 500 million euros from the United States.
