An eruption of the Mayon volcano has begun in the province of Albay in the Philippines. The sky over the region has been covered with thick smoke. This is reported by the local publication GMA News Online, according to UNN.

It is noted that the eruption has been assigned a level three alert. The volcano is showing signs of increased magmatic explosion—specifically, lava flows and volcanic earthquakes.
Minor Strombolian activity and short-term lava fountains were observed. The crater glow remains clearly visible to the naked eye
It is indicated that thirty-two volcanic earthquakes were also recorded, including 25 volcanic tremors lasting from two to 15 minutes.
Residents of the province were urged to be cautious and temporarily refrain from visiting danger zones, especially ravines and river channels where flows of hot gas and debris may form.
