Land demining: 100 farmers have already applied for compensation

Within a month, Ukrainian farmers submitted 100 applications for compensation for the demining of agricultural land. Over the year, more than 30 thousand square kilometers of potentially mined areas were returned to use.
Over the past month, Ukrainian farmers have submitted 100 applications for compensation for the demining of agricultural land. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal after a meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance and the Center for Humanitarian Demining, UNN reports.
There are already 47 humanitarian demining operators in Ukraine. We continue to stimulate this industry. We have already launched a program to compensate farmers for land demining. In less than a month, we received almost 100 applications for compensation
According to him, on , the criteria for granting compensation will be finalized so that as many farmers as possible can benefit from it.
Shmyhal noted that over the past year, more than 30,000 square kilometers of potentially mine-contaminated areas have been returned to use. "We are not postponing this process for later. [We are already developing solutions that will help demine Ukraine in a matter of years, not decades," the Prime Minister said.

The State Agrarian Register has launched a tool for farmers to apply for participation in the program to compensate for the cost of demining agricultural land. The program applies to both land directly owned by the farmer and land leased by him.
