In a statement published by the semi-official Iranian Tasnim News Agency, the IRGC Navy reported that the vessels, including container ships, passed through the strategic waterway during the "last day and night" under the coordination and security provided by their forces.
CNN notes that it was unable to independently verify the number of vessels.
The IRGC Navy also stated that they are exercising what they called "smart control" over the Strait of Hormuz and warned that "any act of aggression will be met with crushing blows."
