According to the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), which organized the demonstration, the march took place in the center of Ankara. The party also held a similar action in Istanbul.
On the eve of the NATO summit, Turkish authorities introduced enhanced security measures. Since the end of June, a ban on holding rallies, demonstrations, and other mass events in public places has been in effect in Ankara. The restrictions will remain in force for two more days after the summit ends.

In addition, according to AFP, dozens of Turkish journalists were denied accreditation for the NATO summit. Among them are representatives of media that previously criticized the policies of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
