In the first two months of 2024, 2,829 road accidents with victims occurred in Ukraine. 33 accidents involved children, which is twice as many as in the same period in 2021.
Since the beginning of the year, 2,829 accidents with victims have been recorded. At the same time, 33 accidents were caused by children. This is reported by Opendatabot, UNN.

Citing data from the National Police, OpenDataBot calculated the number of road accidents in the first two months of this year. Thus, in January-February 2024, 2,829 accidents with victims occurred in Ukraine. At the same time, in 2023, there were 3,044 accidents with victims, in 2022 - 2,802 accidents, and in 2021 - 3,014 accidents.
Almost half of accidents (42%) are caused by exceeding the safe speed limit. Violation of maneuvering rules also accounts for a significant share of accidents (18%), followed by violation of pedestrian crossing rules (9%).
Compared to 2021, the number of road accidents caused by children has increased. During the first two months of 2024, there were 33 such events. This is twice as many as in the corresponding period of 2021, when only 14 were recorded.
Dnipropetrovs'k region ranks first in terms of the number of accidents, with 290 accidents recorded. Lviv region with 247 accidents with victims and the city of Kyiv with 241 accidents were also among the top three in terms of the number of accidents.
