Israel has started jamming GPS, which was felt by residents of large cities, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The GPSJAM monitoring service records widespread GPS disruptions in Israel.
IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari confirmed that spoofing, or spoofing of the GPS signal, is taking place in the country.
In Israel, spoofing has been in place for the past six months on the northern border with Lebanon, where skirmishes with the pro-Iranian Shiite paramilitary movement Hezbollah continue.
According to the Times of Israel, Israelis are advised to manually set their location in their mobile devices so that missile attack warnings and air raid alerts work correctly.

Iran saidthat it is preparing a strike against Israel because of the airstrike on its consulate building in Syria on Monday. The attack killed 13 people, including an influential general of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammad Reza Zahedi. The strike is believed to have been carried out by Israel; the country's authorities have not officially commented on this.
The Israeli Defense Forces has suspended furloughs for all military personnel in combat units. The day before, reservists of air defense units were called up in the country.
