It is noted that in recent weeks , the German Ministry of the Interior has been negotiating with mobile operators Telekom, Vodafone and Telefonica to stop using Chinese equipment in their work.
The publication has learned from its own sources that the parties have finally reached an agreement and are planning to sign the agreement this week. According to the documents, mobile operators must get rid of technological components from Chinese manufacturers no later than the end of 2026.
First of all, this applies to Huawei equipment, which will have to be completely replaced.
In addition, by the end of 2029, according to the agreements reached, the entire access network must be protected from espionage attempts by the Chinese authorities. In case of breach of the agreement, mobile operators face serious penalties.
The contracts with the companies will be signed personally by Interior Secretary Nancy Feather.
