"Gas case": court sentences Onishchenko to 15 years in prison in absentia

Former MP Oleksandr Onyshchenko is sentenced to 15 years in prison for embezzling more than UAH 740 million received from the production and sale of gas at Ukrgazvydobuvannya.
The High Anti-Corruption Court has sentenced former MP Oleksandr Onyshchenko to 15 years in prison in absentia in the case of misappropriation of state funds worth more than UAH 740 million during the production and sale of natural gas under joint venture agreements with PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya. UNN reports this with reference to information from the SAPO.
"15 and 12 years in prison with confiscation - the HACCJ panel of judges announced the verdict against the MP of the VII convocation and his CFO, accused of misappropriating state funds worth more than UAH 740 million during the production and sale of natural gas under joint venture agreements with the public joint-stock company Ukrgazvydobuvannya," the SAPO said in a statement.
