Even though the heat will return, it will not be so terrible for the energy sector - the Ministry of Energy
Kyiv • UNN
The Deputy Minister of Energy reported that some capacities have been restored. The power grid is expected to cope better with the upcoming heat wave, but consumers are urged to save electricity during peak hours.
The upcoming heat wave will no longer be so difficult for the power system, as some capacities have been restored and put into operation. Deputy Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk said this during a telethon, UNN reports.
"The system is very sensitive to any factors. As for the heat and how the power system will react, the situation may vary. As of today, we have managed to restore some capacities and put them into operation, but we will see what the consumption will be," says Mr. Hrynchuk.
It also urges consumers to use electricity sparingly, especially during peak hours.
"Although the heat will return, it will not be as bad as it was two weeks ago," she added.
Recall
Deputy Energy Minister Mykola Kolisnyk saidthat it is currently incorrect to make predictions about the return to the power outage schedules, as it is not known how long the heat wave expected after August 12 will last, or whether it will cover the whole of Ukraine or territorially. Ukrainians are urged to conserve electricity.
