Former Ukrainian MP Andrii Derkach has been charged with treason and illicit enrichment, accused of receiving at least $567,000 from Russian agencies for his actions against Ukraine. His case, with evidence of subversive activities, is currently in court.

The case against former MP Andriy Derkach, who is suspected of high treason and illegal enrichment, was transferred to the court, reports UNN with reference to the NABU.

Details

According to the investigation, the accused received at least 5 567 thousand during 2019-2022. From law enforcement and intelligence agencies of the Russian Federation for subversive activities against Ukraine. In particular, he committed actions aimed at discrediting Ukraine's image in the international arena, worsening diplomatic relations between the United States and Ukraine, as well as complicating Ukraine's integration into the European Union and NATO.

In July 2022, during a series of searches, the NABU and SAPO found and seized materials that testified to the long-term subversive activities of the accused, his established ties with representatives of the aggressor state and collaborators. In connection with the concealment abroad, the ex-MP was informed of suspicion in absentia and put on the Wanted list.

In September 2022, people's deputy Andrey Derkach was informed of suspicion of high treason and illegal enrichment. He was also put on the Wanted list. In July of this year, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court granted permission to conduct a pre-trial investigation in absentia against former MP Andriy Derkach. In August, NABU and SAPO announced the completion of the investigation in the Derkach case.
